Student wellbeing
Supporting each child throughout their school journey
The school places a strong emphasis on pastoral care and student wellbeing, with a structured support system built around form tutors and key stage coordinators.
Each tutor group consists of up to 25 students, with tutors working closely alongside heads of key stages to monitor and support students’ academic and personal development. Oversight of the wider pastoral programme sits at senior leadership level, ensuring consistency and continuity across the school.

Knowing who to speak to
At The English School of Asturias, we believe that clear and open communication is key to a successful school experience. Knowing who to speak to when you have a question, concern, or need support helps ensure that matters are dealt with promptly and effectively. Whether it’s a query about your child’s learning, wellbeing, or day-to-day practicalities, approaching the right person means you’ll receive the most accurate information and guidance. We encourage all families to familiarise themselves with the key contacts within the school – we are here to help and work
together in partnership.
1. Class teacher/tutor
Most concerns are resolved at the classroom level. In secondary school, for pastoral or wellbeing matters, or general academic issues, you should contact your class tutor; or, if your concern is subject-specific, you should contact the relevant subject teacher.

2. Key Stage Coordinator.
If your concern is not resolved at the classroom level, or, if it is a pastoral and general wellbeing issue, please contact your section’s Key Stage Coordinator.

3. Head of Section
If your concern is not resolved, or, it is related to teaching, learning or curriculum, please contact your Head of Section.

4. Technical Director
For matters related to the Spanish curriculum, validations, Spanish certificates or access to Spanish universities, contact our Technical Director Eva Prieto

5. Headteacher
If, after following the previous steps, your concern has not been resolved to your satisfaction, contact the school office to schedule an appointment with the headteacher Natalia Cáceres.
